We provide structured tuition, tailored around the needs of each individual pupil. This approach allows our pupils to quickly and easily pass their driving test, and to become safe, confident and responsible drivers for life.
All our lessons and courses are taught on a one to one basis – just pupil and instructor in the car – and, for your convenience, We will pick you up at the start of the lesson, then drop you off once finished.
The prices we charge are highly competitive and discounts are available when driving lessons are block booked.

There are a number of benefits to undertaking driving instructor training with LDLT. As well as becoming your own boss and having a more active role in your community, you can enjoy working hours that suit you and plan lessons around your other commitments, such as spending time with your family. The average instructor takes six to nine months to complete training, but this will vary depending on your availability.

Passed my part 3 and part 2 all thanks to Paul westlake. Could never of done it without him, he’s the absolute best. Always there for support and lessons are always a good laugh.
The only down side to passing is that I will miss are lessons, wish I could have learnt with Paul when I was younger.

Got on really well with Paul. Passed my practical first time!! Really great teacher, and is completely approachable and friendly. Couldn’t have asked for anyone better. Going to miss having lessons with him 😦 100% would recommend to anyone who asked.

Passed my practical test first time today! But I’m absolutely devastated due to loosing my driving lessons with Paul Westlake! Paul is an incredible driving instructor, teacher and friend. Most driving instructors drive around In silence but Paul strives to ensure he forms a personal bond with his students to ensure they learn quicker and better. Paul is incredible as he does every single day a week, everyday from 7am – 12pm. I started driving in may and had my test booked in a matter of 4 months. I would highly recommend Paul Westlake to any individual wanting to learn to drive, as undoubtedly has been the highlight of my week doing my driving lessons.
Not only a great driving instructor but a great friend, who cares about his pupils and wants the best for them!

Paul Westlake is a patient, reliable and all-round awesome driving instructor. I chose to learn to drive with Paul after many of my friends and family had recommended him to me. They had all told me he was the best driving instructor around and I couldn’t agree more. For me to learn skills I often need them explained to me a few times and Paul was always happy to explain them clearly to me in a way I understand and can remember without me feeling embarrassed. He has an amazing ability to adapt to a variety of learning styles and can adapt his teaching style to suit everyone. Paul’s humour is fantastic. He is such an outgoing person and I never had a dull lesson or any awkward moments with him. I don’t think there is anyone on earth that doesn’t get on with Paul. I always felt relaxed behind the wheel and never on edge. I think this was due to Paul’s friendly and calm nature. He honestly has a heart of gold and the patience of a saint. Paul was always ready for the unexpected and when I did make mistakes, he remained calm and relaxed whilst helping me out of the situations without me panicking.

He is very flexible, reliable and punctual with his lessons. He has lessons available from early mornings to late evenings, so you can always be certain he will have a lesson for you. Paul has a phenomenal driving knowledge and can answer questions on any driving topic such as the highway code, or even the mechanics of the car. He has been teaching for years so has a huge amount of experience with teaching and knows driving routes and areas which are good for practising. Paul went at my pace, but at the same time pushed me hard enough for me to challenge myself and build confidence with driving, but never too far that I lost confidence or didn’t feel I was ready. Paul always believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. He monitored my progress throughout my lessons with a progress booklet that he would regularly update, and we would discuss, so I knew what I was doing well and where I needed to improve. To Paul being a driving instructor is not just a job. He really has a passion for what he does and for teaching. He will always go above and beyond. He made my whole driving experience one to remember and exceeded all my expectations. When I passed my driving test first time, I was a little sad as I knew that would be my last driving lesson with him, however I have made a great friend and can’t thank him enough. Thank you, Paul!

Passed my driving test with only two minors due to Paul’s exceptional quality of teaching. Paul’s lessons were fun and enjoyable but mainly extremely beneficial, as I was taught everything for my test and I went into it so well prepared. Paul is not any average driving Instructor as he makes every lesson great and it didn’t feel like normal learning as we always had a laugh. I highly recommend Paul to anyone else and would like to thank him massively for all his support, dedication and his constant determination to see me succeed while I was learning to drive.

Paul always made me comfortable during my lessons, he was funny while being very informative and professional. He is patient and easy going and I will be recommending him to any new learners. Passed my practical yesterday! would highly recommend Paul for anyone, he’s helped me overcome any nervousness and fear around driving and helped increase my confidence on the road. Paul taught me and both my older siblings how to drive, he was fantastic from the beginning. I was very anxious to start driving but he put me at ease straight away. He is very calming and funny and i could not have asked for more and he is greatly missed.
